As of Thursday afternoon, Nov. 7, 104 structures were threatened and 12 were evacuated due to the fire in the Kettle Run section of Evesham, the New Jersey Forest Fire Service said.
The Forest Fire Service has responded with fire engines, bulldozers, ground crews, a helicopter capable of dropping 350 gallons of water at a time, an observation chopper, and more, the agency said.
There was also a 300-acre wildfire burning in Jackson Township. The fire in the Colliers Mills Wildlife Management Area forced people in 15 homes to evacuate.
According to the U.S. Drought Monitor, many parts of Atlantic, Burlington, and Ocean counties were under "extreme drought" conditions.
